Free YWMC Consulting Services to Member Schools through Recent Teagle Foundation Grant
Three years ago The Teagle Foundation awarded three YWMC schools a grant entitled “A Collaborative Initiative to Infuse Liberal Arts Content and Learning into Business Curriculum.” In January 2021, teams of faculty from 22 Yes We Must Coalition schools attended a series of virtual workshops on “The Why and How of Integrating Liberal Arts into Business Programs.” During the four workshop sessions, attendees heard from the three YWMC schools — Coker University, Keuka College and Saint Elizabeth University — that received the grant. These schools have been working collaboratively to change their business curriculum in ways that increase learning through the liberal arts. During the workshops, attendees created their own plans for such work on their own campuses.
The Teagle Foundation has extended the original grant to allow the grant partner schools and YWMC staff to provide consultation to schools that attended the workshops to assist in the refinement and implementation of work on their campuses. This free service is available through December 31, 2021. The service complements the work the Yes We Must Coalition is doing to consult individually with schools about strategies to increase success for students from low-income backgrounds. Fees for these services are greatly reduced for Coalition members.
