Objectives of the Wheel
The Wheel advances academic opportunities for students at Yes We Must Coalition member institutions by sharing online courses, technological resources, and student and faculty support resources by:
- Utilizing member institutions’ existing knowledge, experience, technological and human resources to readily provide online and hybrid course options to meet students’ educational needs
- Enabling students’ timely completion of degree requirements and graduation
- Assisting all students (including those with less flexibility because of work or other obligations) in having access to required courses
- Containing the cost of higher education by sharing the institutional expense of technology infrastructure with member institutions
- Containing the cost of higher education by sharing faculty expertise with member institutions
- Containing the cost of higher education by sharing academic technology support for students and faculty with member institutions
- Containing the cost of higher education by providing students with rich educational offerings by sharing member institutions’ courses, programs, and expertise rather than duplicating efforts and investment whenever possible
- Containing the cost of higher education by developing a consortium model that is conscientiously budget-neutral rather than revenue -producing
